LeBron James Releases Statement After The Bucks Boycott Game 5 vs Magic

Three NBA playoff games scheduled for Wednesday will take place in a different day. NBA players decided to protest the shooting of Jacob Blake as confirmed by the NBA. All games will be rescheduled for another day. The Bucks were the first team to boycott Game 5.

“The NBA and the National Basketball Players Association today announced that in light of the Milwaukee Bucks’ decision to not take the floor today for Game 5 against the Orlando Magic, today’s three games – Bucks vs. Magic, Houston Rockets vs. Oklahoma City Thunder and Los Angeles Lakers vs. Portland Trail Blazers – have been postponed,” the statement read. “Game 5 of each series will be rescheduled.”

Police officers shot Blake in the back at least seven times in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The shooting triggered protests in Kenosha. Blake is paralyzed from the waist down.

The NBA protest started when Orlando Magic and Milwaukee Bucks players didn’t take the court for the playoff game. The NBA announced it would postpone all games on Wednesday following reports that other players plan to boycott games, too.

Shortly after the Bucks made their decision, LeBron took to Twitter to deliver a message.

Other teams follow the Bucks to boycott Game 5

Players from the Los Angeles Lakers and Portland Trail Blazers won’t hit the court too.  They saw the restart of the NBA season in the Orlando bubble as a way to protest against racial injustice in the country. Many players are wearing messages on their jerseys. “Black Lives Matter” was printed on the court. Players didn’t like the outcome their efforts had, and they have decided to take the whole thing to a different level.

Following the Los Angeles Clippers Game 5 win over the Dallas Mavericks, head coach Doc Rivers talked on the tragedy and the current problem in the nation. It’s a sad situation and players won’t stop now. They are ready to do whatever it takes to make a change. The situation is pretty serious and there’s no going back now.
