LeBron James Responds to Group That is Taking One of His Tweets to Discourage Mail Voting

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James had an expected reaction to the group that used his tweet to discourage mail voting. Well, the king is pretty serious about this, and he won’t take a step back now.

Protect My Vote was founded last month. The company paid for Facebook posts featuring LeBron’s comments on the 2020 election and voting. Yes, that’s pretty much the same comment LeBron made. However, the groups post represents a different side of the story.

FreedomWorks promoted Protect My Vote’s posts. It’s a conservative advocacy group that approves the re-election of President Donald Trump.

The post includes one of LeBron’s tweets from June 20. In this tweet, LeBron says the closing of polling places during primary elections in Kentucky and Georgia is nothing but “systemic racism and oppression.”

“First of all, Everyone needs to know the kind of BS happening about this election and get organized,” LeBron tweeted on Friday and then highlighted the athlete-led advocacy group he supported. More Than A Vote will support the voting rights of the African-American community.

“Misinformation=suppression!” LeBron added.

LeBron James is serious about the mail voting

This isn’t the only tweet LeBron wrote. He added, “Nobody should be able to use my name (or anyone else name) to lie and deceive about the election. Not sure what we can do legally but definitely trying to figure it out!”

LeBron’s advisor, Adam Mendelsoh, talked about the situation. He told The Washington Post the ads were shameless and reprehensible.

A Facebook spokeswoman said the company is checking out the posts.

LeBron and his Los Angeles Lakers are in the Orlando bubble. They clinched the top seed in the West and won one game against the Portland Trail Blazers. Well, they also lost a game to the team.

The Lakers are on a good way to win their championship and LeBron won’t miss that. He really wants to win his ring and the same applies to every player on the Lakers roster. It’s a big season for the Purple and Gold.
