Lebron James Used $2.5 Million of His Fortune Paying Tribute to the Athlete He Considers the GOAT

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is considered the greatest of all time. The three-time NBA champion has made a name for himself. LeBron has the power to turn his team into a championship-winning squad and everyone knows that. That’s what makes LeBron the GOAT. He is an excellent leader, and fans like to call him “the king of basketball.” Well, the great LeBron James now uses a portion of his fortune to honor the athlete he calls “the GOAT.”

According to LeBron, Muhammad Ali is the greatest athlete of all time. The Lakers superstar has been compared to Michael Jordan from the very first moment he joined the league. Well, LeBron says Ali is the GOAT.

“As I got older and started to read about him and watch things about him, I started to realize what he did in the ring was secondary to what he meant outside of the ring—just his influence, what he stood for,” LeBron explained after Ali’s death.

“The reason why he’s the GOAT is not because of what he did in the ring, which was unbelievable. It’s what he did outside of the ring, what he believed in, what he stood for, along with Jim Brown and Oscar Robertson, Lew Alcindor—obviously, who became Kareem [Abdul-Jabbar]—Bill Russell, Jackie Robinson. Those guys stood for something. He’s part of the reason why African-Americans today can do what we do in the sports world. We’re free. They allow us to have access to anything we want. It’s because of what they stood for, and Muhammad Ali was definitely the pioneer for that.”

LeBron James uses his fortune to honor legends

Forbes confirms that LeBron’s net worth has reached $480 million. In 2016, he used $2.5 million  “to support an exhibit honoring Muhammad Ali exhibit at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington.”

His business partner, Maverick Carter, made a donation, too.

LeBron and Carter are executive producers on “What’s My Name | Muhammad Ali Part 1.” It’s a documentary about the late boxing legend.

King James deserves credit for everything he has done on and off the court. He praises great athletes, and this is the best evidence for his greatness.
