New England Patriots Insider Slams Controversial Rookie

Patriots rookies didn’t have too much luck this season. We are in the middle of a global pandemic and there will be no preseason. Justin Rohrwasser had to deal with the criticism of his controversial tattoo and the low performance in training camp. NFL rookies have a better career start, but Rohrwasser wasn’t that lucky. A Patriots insider made a comment on the controversial rookie, and many wouldn’t agree with him.

Rohrwasser is a talented player and he has huge potential. Well, analysts are concerned about his performance in training camp. Is Rohrwasser better than veteran kicker Nick Folk?

Evan Lazer from CLNS tweeted that Nick Folk is better than Justin Rohrwasser.

Zack Cox from NESN wrote that Rohrwasser is one of the Patriots’ biggest losers in training camp. “Rohrwasser hasn’t kicked much in camp, and when he has, it hasn’t been pretty. The Patriots brought back veteran Nick Folk this week to compete with the fifth-round draft pick, who reportedly is not 100 percent healthy.”

Will the Patriots put the controversial rookie on the field in 2020?

The Patriots selected Rohrwasser to replace Stephen Gostkowski who missed 2019 due to an injury. New England cut ties with Gostkowski in the offseason, right after selecting Rohrwasser as a fifth-round pick. A major controversy followed the selection and fans were worried about his tattoo.

Rohrwasser had an urge to explain that he plans to remove the tattoo. However, the tattoo controversy wasn’t the only problem he has. The kicker sustained an injury and hasn’t seen any action on the practice field.

New England re-signed Folk. The veteran signed a deal in 2019 to replace Gostkowski while he was recovering from an injury. New England didn’t keep Folk at the end of the season and decided to select Rohrwasser.

Bringing the veteran back fueled speculations. Head coach Bill Belichick sure has a plan and he won’t let his kickers fail in 2020. It’s a big season for the team and the Patriots need their kickers sharper than ever. Belichick may pull out a few more moves before the start of the official season.
