Nick Young Makes a Valid Point on Why LeBron James Deserves This Season’s MVP

Former Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick Young has given his vote for the 2019-20 NBA MVP: LeBron James. He also made a convincing statement as to why James deserves this season’s MVP title.

We think everyone can agree with Young on this one. When James was injured last season, the Lakers failed to make the playoffs. What more to say?

With him healthy and in condition and the addition of Anthony Davis, the team has soared to the top of the Western Conference standings.

Even James thinks he recently made his case as to why he believes he deserves this season’s MVP award.

“I think I showed what I was capable of doing not only individually but from a team perspective,” he said when asked about voting for awards being frozen.

The 16-time All-Star has been fantastic this season, averaging 25.4 points, 10.3 assists and 8.0 rebounds per game.

The three-time NBA champion missed the Lakers game against the Houston Rockets due to sore groin. But, he returned on Saturday and scored 31 points against the Pacers.

While many already think of James as the MVP, the 35-year-old will have to edge out two main opponents. Rockets guard James Harden and Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo were both named finalists for the award.

While James would love to add to his MVP collection, he is focused on bringing home a championship. He and his team have a lot of work to do, having stumbled since the NBA season has resumed. They need to amend the 2-4 through their first six games.
