Patriots’ Cam Newton Preaches ‘Repetition’ In Jarring Workout Clip

Patriots quarterback Cam Newton delivered a bold message through his latest workout video. The veteran’s production company, Iconic Saga Productions, shared a video to its YouTube channel Monday of the quarterback taking many snaps on practice fields. “Repetition” is the theme of Newton’s video.

“Repetition is the mother of learning, The Father of Action, which makes it the Architect of Accomplishment.”

A bold message, right?

Newton has put in a lot of hard work this offseason. The 31-year-old will compete with second-year quarterback Jarrett Stidham for the starting job in September. Newton has the best experience of all quarterbacks on the Patriots’ depth chart, but his health is the most important topic right now. Let’s not forget that Brian Hoyer is also here. The Patriots will enter training camp with a huge task on their schedule. Picking the right signal-caller would be a big challenge for the team, and head coach Bill Belichick has the final word.

Newton may be forced to prove himself over Stidham and Hoyer, but Patriots legendary coach Dante Scarnecchia believes that he will be QB No. 1 for the Pats in 2020. “I think he has a huge edge, because of what he’s done in the league,” he said. “The guy was an MVP [in 2015]. We played against him a number of times, have huge respect for him as a player and leader, and the things he’s done. This guy, from a skillset, [is] a lot different from guys we’ve had in there at quarterback over the years.”

Scarnecchia had great words for Stidham, too. He praised his feet and the ability to move and avoid the rush. Stidham is a skilled quarterback, and he gives Josh McDaniels a big challenge. The offensive coordinator will be able to try out new things. Stidham is nothing like Tom Brady, and McDaniels will have a chance to try the running game in 2020.

Stidham has excellent work ethic and he is really smart. Scarnecchia knows that only smart quarterbacks fit in the system. The Patriots are about to face a big challenge, and picking their next starting quarterback is one of the most important tasks right now.

Analysts thought that the team will put Stidham under center, but the arrival of Newton changed everything.
