Patriots’ Julian Edelman Lauds Cam Newton’s Attitude During Training Camp

New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton is determined to prove doubters wrong. The Carolina Panthers quarterback cut him in March and Newton wasn’t able to find a home in the past few months. Well, the Patriots decided to give him a chance, and Newton agreed to a one-year deal with the Patriots. Newton won’t get a chance to showcase his skills until the start of the regular season in September. Wideout Julian Edelman has something to say about Newton’s role in training camp. The Patriots have entered training camp and they are ready to move on with success.

Analysts made a few comments on Newton’s success with the Patriots. They were full of doubts about the former Carolina Panthers quarterback. Newton is not a pocket passer like Tom Brady. The 2015 NFL MVP is very dynamic and he can definitely take over games with his athleticism.

The regular season will start in a few weeks. New England hasn’t decided who will be their starting quarterback for the season. What does Julian Edelman say about this? If Edelman had his pick, he’d probably pick Newton.

Edelman hasn’t really make any comments on the next starter. But, he sure praised Newton for his work ethic. Edelman won the 2018 Super Bowl MVP award and he can definitely recognize greatness.

“He’s definitely a former MVP for a reason,” Edelman told The Greg Hill Show. “The guy is a professional. He works his tail off. He’s extremely dynamic and he’s got a charming personality. It’s been fun to be around.”

Well, everything points to the fact that Newton will start games for the Patriots in Week 1.

Stidham sustained a hip injury and he won’t be 100 percent in the next few months. In other words, the quarterback competition will cover Brian Hoyer and Newton.

Newton wins the battle over Hoyer. He has great experience. But, Hoyer has learned so much from Josh McDaniels and his offensive system.

The Patriots will make a decision in the next few weeks. Can you make any guesses on the next starter?
