Patriots Reportedly Showing Interest In Veteran NFL Kicker

The New England Patriots may be interested in adding another veteran kicker. The team has to improve the kicking situation before the start of the regular season. NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that the Patriots brought in Nick Folk for a visit on Saturday. According to the report, the Patriots plan to re-sign Folk this Monday.

New England worked through four kickers last season. Stephen Gostkowski started at the position and then sustained a season-ending injury. Folk took over the position later in the season and did a good job.

The kicker was able to convert 14-of-17 field goal tries for the team in 2019. He did an awesome job in extra-poiint attempts and went 12-of-12. Everything points to the fact that he is making his way to Foxborough this season.

The Patriots need the veteran kicker

Folk has been part of the NFL for 12 years. The Patriots will use him as a full-time kicker in the upcoming season.

Gostkowski is unsigned ahead of the season. how will things develop for the talented kicker?

New England will enter a challenging chapter. Quarterback Tom Brady left the team and signed a two-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the offseason. TB12 ended his 20-year career with the Patriots. New England will probably use former Carolina Panthers quarterback as a replacement for Brady. Newton will have a bigger role with the Patriots offense in 2020.

Folk will do his best to help in the special teams part of the game. the kicker and his teammates will start off the 2020 season on Sept. 13 and the Miami Dolphins are in for Week 1. It will be an interesting match to watch and the team will play without any fans in attendance. The Patriots will have no fans in the stands in September. Maybe this will change throughout the season. fans give players the motivation they need. But, the coronavirus pandemic changed everything and players will have to play without any support. 2020 is a big season for the Pats, and they are ready for the challenge.
