Patriots’ Stephon Gilmore Reveals Who He Thinks Is The Best Player In The NFL

The New England Patriots will enter the new season with a few obstacles in the schedule. Quarterback Tom Brady is no longer playing for Bill Belichick and the Patriots. That was the biggest void New England had to cover this offseason. Many say that TB12 is the greatest football player of all time. Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore shared his take on the best player in the NFL.

Well, we do know that Gilmore doesn’t really talk too much. But we also know that he always delivers the greatest messages. This time, the cornerback talked about the hottest topic in the league.

Gilmore had an interview for NFL Network’s Top 100 list. When asked who would be No. 1 among the league’s best players, Gilmore said “I would pick myself.” Well, we saw this coming.

The veteran cornerback landed at No. 9. That’s the highest for a cornerback this year. Gilmore had a really great season with the Patriots. NFL fans will always remember his performance against Amari Cooper. The superstar finished his game against the Patriots with zero catches. As you may remember, Gilmore had more receptions in that game and one interception on a target for Cooper.

Gilmore may be right about the best player in the NFL

Would you put a cornerback on top of the list? Quarterbacks usually take the top position because they carry most of the load during regular-season games. If there was a defensive player who could make the top, it would be the Patriots corner. He is the defending defensive player of the year and head coach Bill Belichick has used his talent in the most brilliant way.

Gilmore and his teammates are more than motivated for the upcoming season. Six players decided to opt-out of the regular season. This means that the rest of the players will have to try really hard to win more games in 2019. It will be a challenging year for Gilmore and the other Patriots players. Belichick is ready for the big challenge and he is confident about the next move. Maybe he will make a few more moves ahead of the 2020 season.
