Report: Lakers Expected to Pursue Former All-Star Player

Apparently, the Los Angeles Lakers are pursuing an all star, even if they are still busy with the playoffs. The Lakers have been doing everything they can to get back on track versus the Portland Trail Blazers. They are doing much better now. They lead 3-1 in the series and have looked dominant doing in. But questions remain.

Apparently, not the Lakers are looking to pick up a former Oklahoma City and Indiana Pacers star. Victor Oladipo is now on the Lakers radar and they are very interested in seeing if they can get him. Oladipo would be a huge pick up for the Lakers. He would fill several of the holes they have now.

“If Oladipo hits the trade block, look for other teams like the Lakers and [Brooklyn] Nets to pursue him, even without a long-term commitment,” Eric Pincus said.

Oladipo, who is still only 28 years old, saw his season come to an end on Monday. The Miami heat swept the Indiana Pacers 4-0 which was not a good look for the coach.

Oladipo eventually came back from a ruptured quadriceps tendon injury way back in January. This was obvious in the regular season that he was not completely healthy. Oladipo averaged only 14.5 points and 3.9 rebounds per game in the regular season.

Still though, he turned it around in the playoffs. Other than his limited Game 1 performance versus the Heat, Oladipo had 22.3 points and 2.7 steals per game in the Pacers’ series against Miami.

The Lakers don’t really need any help. They seem to have an absolutely loaded roster. They eventually got the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference.

If they were able to pick up Oladipo, this would surely have a huge impact on the Lakers as a whole. This would be a good pick up and would set them up for quite awhile.

LeBron James could surely use the help as his career finally comes to an end. Regardless, the Lakers seem to be in pretty good shape. What do you think this?
