Report: Young Patriots Players Involved in Practice Fight

There have been reports of a fight during the Patriots training camp. The New England Patriots have been doing everything they can to get back to their winning ways. Last year was a struggle and that was with Tom Brady at the helm. Now, he has left for Tamp Bay and the Patriots have been scrambling to find a suitable replacement.

But apparently, things are not all well during the Patriots training camp. There have been a few reports of a couple young Patriots being involved in a fight in practice.

At least this means that it is getting pretty intense during training camp. Apparently, N’Keal Harry and a newly acquired cornerback Michael Jackson got into a bit of a fight on Tuesday.

Report: Young Patriots Players Involved in Practice Fight

According to several stories, Harry, who was the Patriots’ 2019 first-round pick, got Jackson with a very hard block during one of the practice drills. I guess he put a little more than usual on it. Jackson did not like this very much and the two started fighting.

This is not good to hear. Hopefully they are able to get back on track and the two can reconcile quickly. But this is not the first time we have heard of this happening during a practice. It seems like this happens at least once a year.

But not all is bad. Head coach Bill Belichick has been impressed with newly acquired quarterback Cam Newton. Most people think that Newton will be the starter in the 2020 season.

“I have learned a lot about Cam,” Belichick explained. “I had never really had any interaction with Cam, and then when we signed him, we had some phone calls and WebEx meetings and stuff like that.

“Being with him every day, he’s an extremely hard-working player,” Belichick continued. “First guy in, last one out type of guy. He really has studied hard and he has spent a lot of extra time trying to learn our offense and our communication and our calls, and nomenclature and so forth. Yeah, I’ve been very impressed with that. He’s done a good job of picking it up. He’s a very skilled athlete and we’re just working through it day-by-day.”

He still knows that there is a long way to go.

“We have a long way to go,” Belichick added, “but we’re making steps and we have a very competitive competition at a very competitive position at the quarterback spot. So it’s going to be interesting to see how everybody does.”
