Shaq O’Neal Confirms LeBron James Is The Greatest Player, But Not Season MVP

We all know that LeBron James is an MVP. The NBA all star has been around for a long time now and has proven himself to be one of the best to ever do it. This isn’t really a debate, as most would agree it is a close tie between LeBron and Michael Jordan as the best player of all time.

But there is a new player in the race. At least, someone decided to give their opinion on the MVP race this season. Surprisingly, he doesn’t think it should go to LeBron. Shaquille O’Neal agrees that LeBron is the greatest player but doesn’t think he is the MVP.

He understands that it is a race against LeBron and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

“Based on the new criteria that somebody somehow made up; because there was a guy that beat me (Nash) out twice. And they said he beat me out because his record was better than mine.”

Well, that explains it then. If it is not a competition of the play on the court, then this shouldn’t be a surprise. Rather, it sounds more like they should look at the better team.

Shaq went on.

“So based on that b***s*** criteria that y’all made up, Giannis is 53-12. And LeBron is the best player in the world, he’s 49-14. So based on this new criteria, you gotta give it to Giannis.”

Giannis has been great this season, there is no doubt about that. But has he been as good as LeBron? That is a good question. Shaq gave Giannis some high praise at the same time.

“What I respect about Giannis is he’s saying ‘Okay Bron I respect you and all that, but I don’t want to join those super teams I want to do it by myself’. And they live in Milwaukee. You put them with coach Bud, the kid plays hard, he’s very exciting to watch and he’s doing it the right way. I’m giving him super respect for that, so he gets my knot.”
