Brady and the team tried to do their best to keep it out of the news. They did not want people to know what it was. But an excerpt from a new book has recently come out showing just how bad it was.

During a play at practice, Brady attempted to hand the ball off to running back Rex Burkhead. But something happened. Somehow, the ball was forced back into his throwing hand. This was a huge bleeding cut. The team was in full on panic mode after seeing it happen.

There is an excerpt from Chapter 42 of the book, titled “Threading the Needle.” Liebman’s was concerned about Brady needing surgery right away. He went on to say that 99 percent of cuts like this end in a fracture. But this wasn’t the case for Brady.

Anyway, it is surprising to get this information so long after it happened. The Patriots have always been quite with what they release. I guess now we know why.

Hopefully the Patriots can get back on track after such a disappointing season last year. They failed to make the playoffs. The disappointment was a deciding factor for Brady going to Tampa Bay.
