The One Thing That “Blew Away” Cam Newton When He Joined Patriots

Earlier this offseason and after a long list of speculations, longtime New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady decided to take his talents to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It was a hard decision for Brady who spent almost his entire NFL career with New England. He joined Patriots back in 2000 and many thought he would retire in that jersey.

Brady’s leaving the team left New England with an opening for the quarterback position heading into the 2020 season. The Patriots seemed confident with second-year quarterback Jarrett Stidham and it didn’t seem like they’re looking to sign another one.

However, when an opportunity to land a former MVP came along, Bill Belichick and company couldn’t pass it up. New England signed former Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton to a one-year deal.

Over the past few weeks, Newton has been working out with his new wide receivers, throwing passes to Julian Edelman, Mohamed Sanu and second-year wideout N’Keal Harry.

During his media introduction, Newton spoke about the one thing that blew him away after he joined Patriots.

“I was blown away with the overall professionalism of the Patriots organization,” Newton said.

Newton started the first two games of the 2019 season while dealing with a Lisfranc injury. Unfortunately, he missed the final 14 games of the season due to the immense pain.

However, he seems like he’s back at full strength heading into the 2020 campaign and the Patriots are once again looking like one dangerous team.
