Watch: Frank Vogel Mic’d Up At Practice Motivates Players Ahead of the NBA Restart In Orlando

Los Angeles Lakers head coach Frank Vogel found the perfect way to motivate his players for the NBA restart. Players of 22 teams are inside the Orlando bubble, trying to win the big game. The Lakers completed four of their eight seeding games. LeBron James, Anthony Davis and the rest of the guys lost the games to OKC and Toronto Raptors. But, these losses are actually a motivation for the Lakers. They are going after a title. From what we can hear in this video, Vogel is ready to lead the way to the top.

The Lakers clinched the top seed in the West on Monday. Players didn’t try too hard in the OKC game and allowed a 105-86 loss. The team has a few issues to solve right now. According to Vogel, players keep repeating the same mistakes.

The Lakers failed to hit 40% from the field. Their slow starts may be a big concern for Vogel. LeBron, Davis, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Danny Green and JaVale McGee create the perfect starting lineup for the Lakers. The same lineup lost two games in Orlando. But they did go 17-4 prior to the NBA hiatus.

Frank Vogel accepted the NBA restart as a challenge

The Lakers had a good first quarter in the game against the Clippers. But that’s the only good start they had. In the game against Toronto, the Lakers fell behind 13-0 to start the contest. In the game against Utah, they allowed a 10-2 run to start off the second half of the game. Maybe Vogel will consider changing the starting lineup.

LeBron is not playing against the Houston Rockets, and this is a chance for Vogel to try something else.

“Part of what we’re learning is some things are not working,” the head coach said after the OKC game. “Obviously, when something’s not working you either change the personnel or change the way you’re using them. Those are the things we’re looking at right now.”

When it comes to the potential change of the lineup, Vogel said they are taking everything into consideration. Changing the starting lineup is not the biggest priority right now.
