Watch: KCP Scores For 24-8 Lakers Lead on 8-24

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope got opponents worried. The Los Angeles Lakers entered the Orlando bubble full of optimism. KCP may not be making the best stories in the bubble, but it looks like he is determined to help the Lakers win a title.

The veteran player shocks rivals with his dunks and he is at it again. LA plays Game 4 against the Blazers, and they are coming off a good Game 3 win. Caldwell-Pope has improved a lot and his performance is more than welcome for LA.

KCP had two bad seasons with the Lakers and fans blamed him for the failure LA had. Critics had bad words for the talented player. Caldwell-Pope is here to prove them wrong. Dwight Howard won’t have to step in defense of his teammate. Remember when Howard defended KCP from angry fans?

KCP pushes the Lakers to the top

The Lakers had KCP shoot just 5-18 from distance in their seeding games. He went 0-9 and 0-5 from three in Game 1 of the first round. Los Angeles Lakers head coach Frank Vogel discussed the impact Caldwell-Pope has on the floor.

“I told him after Game 1 that you started the season this way,” Vogel said. “All he did was go on to shoot 40% over the next four months by remaining confident.”

Caldwell-Pope was going for a win. He shot a team-high 41.2% from the game in which Howard defended him until the coronavirus pandemic. KCP recorded 16 points in Game 2 and made four of the six tries he attempted to help LA defeat Portland. It was a beautiful 111-88 win and the Lakers had a reason to celebrate.

After the smooth win, KCP said he was trying to forget the mistakes he made in Game 1. We are perfectly fine with that as long as he shoots. “I know I shot the ball terribly. I won’t even say bad. I’m a shooter and shooters shoot. I came out with the mindset that I’m going to knock down shots.”

That’s exactly what he does this night. KCP is helping the Lakers win.
