3 Reasons Lakers Will Beat Houston Rockets in 2020 NBA Playoffs

The Los Angeles Lakers will challenge the Houston Rockets in Round 2 of the 2020 NBA Playoffs. It’s a big bite for both teams, and players are ready for the big game. Houston eliminated the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 7 and they are off to confronting LeBron James and his teammates.

The Rockets didn’t get too much time to celebrate the first-round series win. They had to get ready for the Lakers.  LeBron’s team is a favorite to win the series. The Lakers will probably make the Western Conference Finals, facing the winners of the Los Angeles Clippers-Denver Nuggets series.

LA will defeat the Rockets and we give you three key reasons why:

Matching the small-ball

Houston moves on with their small-ball. They don’t have a typical center. Head coach Mike D’Anthony pulled out an amazing approach to the game, and his players have had an excellent game.

The Lakers have the players to match the Rockets and defeat Houston. Lakers head coach Frank Vogel will match D’Antoni’s winning formula. Vogel may exploit the height advantage and play Davis at the power forward posotion. Will Robert Covington be able to stop Davis?

From and fatigue

The Lakers had five days to rest. Houston had only one free day off before hitting the floor again. The Rockets went the distance against the OKC in Round 1. The Lakers have an advantage in terms of getting more rest. LA has been more on point in the playoffs. LeBron and Davis cruised in Round 1 against the Blazers. They were shooting 60.0 and 57.3 percent from the field. LeBron made his shot from the distance. He went 13-of-28 against the Blazers for a 46.4% clip. James Harden shot 46.5 percent and Russell Westbrook shot just 41.7 percent from the floor.

The Lakers and Rockets have other players to rely on in the 2020 NBA playoffs

Both teams have great superstars and talented players. Houston has Eric Gordon, Covington, Ben McLemore, Jeff Green, Danuel House Jr. and P.J. Tucker. These players will give Harden and Westbrook all the help they need.

The Lakers have Dwight Howard, Danny Green, JaVale McGee, Rajon Rondo, Quinn Cook, and J.R. Smith. Kyle Kuzma plays really great and KCP has a great game in his time on the floor. Alex Caruso and Markieff Morris are solid, too.
