Angry LeBron James Sends Direct Message to This Year’s MVP Voters

LeBron James was not very happy and sent a message to this year’s MVP voters. The Los Angeles Lakers are currently in a battle with the Denver Nuggets. They were able to take Game 1 against the Nuggets with pretty much no effort. The Lakers did not have trouble the in same areas that they had in previous Game 1s. When playing both the Portland Trailblazers and the Houston Rockets, the Lakers lost game 1. As a result, they had to fight back.

But in the Nuggets game, the Lakers started on fire. The boys in purple were able to get a good lead and the Nuggets were not able to come back from such a deficit. LeBron was amazing in game 1, as we have come to expect. But there were also questions surrounding Anthony Davis and if he would be able to guard Nugget’s big Nikola Jokic. In fact, they did a very good job on him.

Despite the Lakers good play, that still was not enough for LeBron to get an MVP vote. He was not very happy about this and let it be known on social media as well as in his post game comments.

Angry LeBron James Sends Direct Message to This Year’s MVP Voters

LeBron has played as well as anyone this season and it was shocking to see him not get any respect when it comes to MVP voting.

“Out of 101 votes I got 16 first place votes. That’s what pissed me off more than anything,” LeBron said after the game last night.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is now the winner of the award for the second year in a row. He averaged 29.5 points, 13.6 rebounds and 5.6 assists a game this season. These are great numbers. But his team also failed to do anything at all in the playoffs.

Even though James has four regular season MVPs, he has not won the award since the 2012-13 season.

“It pissed me off,” James added “That’s my true answer. It pissed me off because out of 101 votes I got 16 first-place votes. That’s what pissed me off more than anything. I’m not saying that the winner wasn’t deserving of the MVP, but that pissed me off. I finished second a lot in my career, either from a championship, and now four times as the MVP. Like I said, I never came into the league saying ‘I’m gonna be MVP’ or ‘I’m gonna be champion,’ I’ve always said I just want to get better every single day and those things will take care of themselves. Some things are just out of my hands, some things you can’t control, but it pissed me off.”

What do you think about the snub?
