Anthony Davis is First Lakers Player to Make First Team All-Defense Since Kobe Bryant

Anthony Davis is a great admirer of Kobe Bryant and he seems to be following his footsteps. The Lakers big man is the first Lakers player to make First Team All-Defense since the Black Mamba did in the 2010-11 season.

In his first season with the Lakers, Davis is averaging 1.5 steals, 2.3 blocks, and 9.3 rebounds per game. The big man helped the Lakers get the fourth-best scoring defense. LA’s opponents averaged 107.6 points per night.

The team has a defensive rating of 106.3, and that hits the third spot in the NBA.

The seven-time All-Star is doing an amazing job on the floor. He is the perfect match for LeBron James. These two can do wonders on the floor.

Anthony Davis to pay the ultimate tribute to Kobe Bryant

Davis and LeBron are motivated to win the championship this season. This will be the greatest tribute for the Black Mamba. Kobe died in a tragic helicopter crash on Jan. 26. Lakers players are wearing their Black Mamba jerseys in the 2020 playoffs. They had their slick uniforms in Game 2 against the Houston Rockets. Snatching the title for the 2020 season would be ideal.

LA and Houston are tied at 1-1 in the Western Conference semifinals. Davis is averaging 29.7 points, 10.1 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in the postseason. He hit this numbers in seven games against the Portland Trail Blazers and Houston. The Lakers big man is shooting 58.9 percent from the field, 42.9 percent from beyond the arc and 71.2 percent from the free-throw line.

The Lakers had similar success in 2009-10. Kobe and Pau Gasol were leading the team to the championship that season. They made all the way to their championship in seven games over the rival Boston Celtics.

Kobe won his second Finals MVP and became one of the best Lakers players of all time with his fifth championship win. Davis and LeBron are on a good way to replicate the success. LA has a real chance to win the title. That’s why players came to Orlando.
