Anthony Davis Makes Bold Statement About Playing Center in Playoffs

The Los Angeles Lakers need one more win to make the Western Conference Finals. this will be their first trip since 2010. LA played a really good game Thursday. Lakers superstar LeBron James had a good game, and Anthony Davis pushed the team to the top all while playing center.

The Houston Rockets entered the playoffs with their small-ball approach. The Lakers found a way to adjust to their game. Davis agreed to change roles because he was willing to do pretty much anything to win the series. Playing center? Why not?

“It’s the playoffs, man. I don’t care where I play, to be honest. And they don’t really have a 5,” Davis said after the Game 4 win. “It’s more so in the season, it’s a long season. But playoffs, I just go out there and play no matter where Coach puts me on the floor.

“I’m going to fight regardless. I want to win. The guys have enough confidence in me, Coach has enough confidence in me, and I have enough confidence in myself to go out there and compete and do what I’ve got to do to help the team win.”

Anthony Davis to keep playing center for the win

Davis had an inconsistent performance during the seeding games. The All-Star took a different road during the playoffs.  LA is a championship-winning team and Davis did what he had to do to help the team win.

In his nine playoff games, the Lakers big man is averaging 29.2 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game while shooting 59.4 percent from the floor and 39.1 percent from beyond the arc. These numbers are career-highs in the NBA playoffs for Davis. LA will need him to keep playing at this pace. This will be his first championship, and Davis uses this as extra motivation.

LA stands really well at the moment and the Houston Rockets are losing their grip and Lakers fans are already celebrating the win. Let’s see what happens Saturday. It’s an important series for the team.
