Cam Newton Snubbed On Huge NFL Kickoff List

The New England Patriots will have Cam Newton under center and his rankings on a NFL kickoff list share an intriguing perspective. Why did Bleacher Report leave Newton off of its recent rankings list? Their list names the Top 50 players, and Newton is nowhere to be seen.

Well, Newton is used to this disrespect. This will be an excellent motivation for him and his debut with the Patriots. New England starts off the 2020 season with a game against the Miami Dolphins.

The Patriots signed Newton to a one-year deal. Critics didn’t like this move, and just a handful of people have high expectations from him. A great number of analysts believe that Newton will fail to meet the expectations. They believe that the former Carolina Panthers quarterback will have no impact on the Patriots’ offense.

Cam Newton deserves a spot on the kickoff list

Newton is coming off a two-year injury-packed stretch. He suffered a shoulder and lisfranc injury and even had a surgery to fix the problem. But, this doesn’t change the fact that he is an excellent player. He definitely deserves a spot in the Top 50.

According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano says the Patriots may be hiding something with their starting quarterback. Former Pro-Bowler and current CBS analyst Boomer Esiason says the Patriots won’t be able to finish better than .500, adding that Newton is not a good fit with the team.

“The bottom line is (Jarrett) Stidham got hurt, Cam got in there and they are paying him no money whatsoever,” Esiason said. “When you see him up close and personal, he is an unbelievable athlete. Your breath actually gets taken away because he is so good. I still think this is not a great match. Although, I will say he’s got a great coaching staff. The coaching staff will put him in a situation and call the plays that I believe are going to get the best out of him. I don’t think he’s that accurate on third down.”

It’s time for Newton to prove them wrong. He is an excellent player and Belichick gave him a chance to do magic on the field.
