Former Celtics Champion Puts Shame on Players For Being Scared of LeBron James

There is a former NBA player that has come out saying players are scared of LeBron James in today’s NBA. LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are currently taking on the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals. The Lakers are clearly the more talented team on paper and it has come out on the court as well. But the Lakers need to stay focused. Otherwise, the Nuggets could get some confidence.

One thing that is making it harder for the Lakers to stay focused is everything that is going on in the world these days. The BLM movement has been huge recently and LeBron has been a huge part of that. He talked about a certain narrative that has been going around him.

“I’ve never in my 35 years ever condoned violence,” James said in a videoconference. “Never have. But I also know what’s right is right and what’s wrong is wrong, and I grew up in the inner city in a Black community in what we call the hood or the ghetto, however you want to picture it. And I’ve seen a lot of counts first hand of a lot of Black people being racially profiled because of our color. And I’ve seen it throughout my whole life. I’m not saying that all cops are bad because, I actually throughout high school and things of that nature, I’m around them all the time and they’re not all bad.”

“But when you see the videos that’s going on and you can see all over the — not only my hometown, but all over America — you continue to see the acts of violence towards my kind, I can’t do nothing but to speak about it and see the common denominator. |Not one time have I ever said, ‘Let’s act violent towards cops.’ I just said that what’s going on in our community is not okay and we fear for that and we fear for our lives.”

But Paul Pierce, former Boston Celtics star, has an interesting opinion. According to Pierce, players are afraid of LeBron. Wouldn’t you be?

“Players of today are scared of LeBron. If they see LeBron standing in front of them, fear shakes in, I know this. My era is out the league, we weren’t afraid of LeBron. But these guys today, he strikes fear in these guys, I can see it.”

This would fit in nicely with the story that the NBA today is softer than if was in previous years. What do you think about what he had to say?
