Former Patriots Wide Receiver Sold His Super Bowl Ring

Winning a Super Bowl with the New England Patriots is an excellent accomplishment for every player. But a former Patriots wide receiver decided to sell his Super Bowl ring. It doesn’t mean that he doesn’t appreciate his time with the Patriots. Gordon sure had a few great reasons to do this.

Over the weekend, the Patriots wideout auctioned off his ring. New England decided to give the veteran a ring for the 2018 season despite the fact that he didn’t play in the postseason. Let’s not forget that the NFL suspended Gordon back then.

Prior to the big suspension, Gordon marked 40 receptions for 720 yards and three touchdowns. He had a big role in the Patriots offense but couldn’t stay on the field for too long.

Gordon’s Super Bowl ring hit $138,000 at the auction. It wasn’t the highest-priced memorabilia item at the auction. Rookie Michael Jordan card and Mickey Mantle bat went much higher than the ring.

The talented wide receiver won’t see any action this fall. Gordon is waiting for the NFL to reinastate him, and there are no signs to confirm whether he will join one of the teams.

Gordon has an excellent ability to make big plays downfield with his team. Well, teams can’t really count on him because he deals with too many off-field problems.

We would really love to see Gordon back in action. He has excellent talent and NFL teams would find great use of it. The former Pro Bowl wideout will have to wait for 2021, and hopefully, he will find a home in the league.

Gordon had a really great game with the Patriots and his contribution was more than obvious. The Patriots offered him a home when no other NFL team wanted him. Gordon faced multiple suspensions and this affected his game in the league.

Head coach Bill Belichick appreciated Gordon’s work and praised his skills. But, the veteran didn’t have much luck and now he will miss an entire season or even more.
