Lakers Unveil Jerseys to Honor Kobe Bryant in Game 2 vs Rockets

The Los Angeles Lakers are going to wear the Kobe Bryant “Black Mamba” jerseys during their game vs the Houston Rockets. The Lakers once again failed to show up at all for their first game against the Rockets. We saw this exact same thing when they lost their Round 1 Game 1 to the Portland Trail Blazers. After the loss, many people thought that the Lakers were in deep trouble.

These thoughts only got stronger after the Lakers loss to Houston. They failed to look very good at all. Lakers fans are expecting to see a title contender and what they got was not even close. LeBron James and Anthony Davis are once in a life time talents. But if they fail to show up, this type of thing will continue to happen.

Maybe this will change in Game 2, however. The Lakers decided to wear their “Mamba” jersey’s for this game. This should be a good reminder to what needs to be done to take home the victory.

Lakers Unveil Jerseys to Honor Kobe Bryant in Game 2 vs Rockets

Lakers general manager and Kobe’s friend and agent Rob Pelinka talked about what he felt within the bubble.

“We were able to play with uplifted spirits to honor the beautiful lives of Kobe and Gigi. We played this game like they both played — with a laser focus on the highest level of competition, and with a purpose of getting better,” Pelinka said. “They are very grateful for that.”

LeBron also went on to talk about this after the game.

“It’s been an honor, to put on a Laker uniform even before the passing of the great Kobe Bryant,” said LeBron James. “But tonight was another one of those moments for myself and this organization, for all the players to wear those uniforms that was inspired by him and his mind and his creativity. To go out there one day removed from his birthday and on his day of 8/24, to be able to have a game on this day, the stars aligned.”

The Lakers are definitely going to need to get back on track if they want to get where they want to. What do you think about this decision?
