LeBron James, Anthony Davis Speak Out on Crucial 4th-Quarter Surge vs Rockets

The Los Angeles Lakers won Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Houston Rockets. It was a beautiful game and LA players did an amazing job. Superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis talked about the final frame of the game vs Rockets. The surge said it all.

King James knew that he had to take over during that particular part of the game.

“A.D. is on the bench, and my teammates looked to me to try to be aggressive, either getting myself shots or getting my teammates shots,” the four-time NBA MVP said. “And I got an opportunity to see a couple of seams. I was able to attack the rim and also find a couple of guys as well.”

Anthony Davis was brilliant vs Rockets

The Rockets had a good third quarter. They outscored the Lakers 41-23 and this good game happened after a 21-point second-quarter deficit.  Houston was up by two points entering the fourth, and the Lakers almost lost the second part of the series.

King James came out firing to start the fourth quarter. He set the tone for LA. Lakers players came to win the game and that’s exactly what they did.

“We’re not in that situation thinking we can be down 0-2 if we lose this game,” Davis said. “Our mindset is how do we win this game, and we came out with a defensive mindset. Getting back to that defensive mindset we had in the first half and limit their 3 attempts and also, when we get stops run in transition, play our style of basketball.”

The Lakers had their defensive chops down the stretch. They held Houston to 17 points in the final quarter and scored 27 points. Rajon Rondo had a key role and Lakers head coach Frank Vogel liked the way LeBron went into full “attack mode.”

The Lakers had an amazing win and winning this game was really important for them. They will have Game 3 on Tuesday and hopefully, they will finish it with a big win. It’s a big season for LA and they will do their best to win the championship.
