Patriots Have Placed Key RB On The Injured Reserve

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has cut a bunch of players in the past few months. He also added some important names to the Patriots roster. In the most recent move, the Patriots placed a RB on the injured reserve list.

The Patriots running game took a bit of a hit before the beginning of the regular season.

Ian Rapoport from NFL Network reported that the Patriots have placed running back Damien Harris on injured reserve. The second-year pro had to undergo a finger surgery.

The Patriots selected Harris 87th overall in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He ran for 12 yards but was seen as a possible starting running back. Sony Michel’s status is uncertain at this point.

New England had a quick reaction to this. They signed running back J.J. Taylor from the 53-man roster from the practice squad. The talented running back is an undrafted rookie out of Arizona.

When it comes to the Patriots running back unit, Michel is expected to feel good. James White will contribute to the game. Veterans Brandon Bolden and Danny Vitale opted out of the regular season over COVID-19 concerns.
