Patriots Fans Will Enjoy Mike Florio’s Week 3 ‘Award’ For New England

The Las Vegas Raiders were pretty confident about their Week 3 game in Foxboro. New England was well prepared for Las Vegas, and the Raiders learned their lesson the hard way. Patriots fans had a lot of fun in the second half of the game. Veteran quarterback Cam Newton didn’t have his best game, but the Patriots played really well as a team.

Their incredible 16-point win over the unbeaten Raiders was a big accomplishment. The Raiders came to New England all pumped up after the great win over the New Orleans Saints. They went back home with a loss.

Patriots fans hope for another win

Mike Florio and Chris Simms had great words for the Pats during “Pro Football Talk.” Florio gave the Pats the “Go Tuck Rule yourself” award for the game that brought Jon Gruden back to New England for the first time since the greatest Pats-Raiders divisional game in 2001.

“…There was so much talk about, hey, the Raiders are 2-0 and they beat the Saints,” Florio said on NBC Sports. “And, ‘You better believe in the Raiders’ and ‘How are dare you not respect the Raiders?’ and, ‘You should pick the Raiders and Derek Carr is going to have a big day. You’re going to be sorry come Monday when the Raiders beat the’ — oh, 36-20, the Patriots won.

“It was that methodical, grind it out, grind it out, make you think for a while. That’s what the Patriots do. They make you think for a while that you’re actually going to have a chance to win and then you look at the scoreboard in the second half and you’re getting lapped by the Patriots. It happens all the time. They smother you, they make you think you got a chance and then, at the end of the day, you got no chance.”

Things may take a different turn next Sunday. Patriots players will travel to Kansas City to meet the Chiefs. It’s a really challenging game, and New England will play against the reigning Super Bowl champions.
