Patriots Signed Quarterback Who Is Even Bigger Than Cam Newton

The Patriots have picked up yet another quarterback. The New England Patriots had a huge off season this year. It was very important for them to fill all of the holes that were left after last season. The 2019 season for the Patriots was pretty disappointing when you look at as a whole. They failed to get much done at all. And then, their legendary quarterback Tom Brady decided to leave for Tamp Bay.

As a result, the Patriots signed Cam Newton, who had a great game in week 1 against the Miami Dolphins. He had 2 rushing touchdowns and no interceptions. This should not have come as a surprise after what we heard from coaches during training camp. Just take a look at what head coach Bill Belichick said about him.

“He’s an extremely hard-working player,” Patriots coach Bill Belichick said back in August. “First-guy in, last-one out type of guy. He’s really studied hard and has spent a lot of extra time trying to learn our offense, our communication, our calls, nomenclature and so forth. I’ve been very impressed with that. He’s done a good job of picking it up. He’s a very skilled athlete. We’re just working through it day by day. We have a long way to go.

“We’ve got a very competitive competition at a very competitive position at the quarterback spot. It will be interesting to see how everybody does.”

But now it has been announced that they signed yet another quarterback to the practice squad.

Newton is already one of the larger quarterbacks in the NFL. But Dolegala has him beat by a pretty large margin.

Dolegala was at Central Connecticut for 4 years. Dolegala was a senior in 2018 and completed 61 percent of his passes. He topped that off with 2,221 yards, 16 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He was not drafted in 2019. But he was eventually signed to the Cincinnati Bengals’ camp this year and in 2019 he performed well.

What do you think about this signing? Could he bring anything to the team?
