Patriots Starter, Captain Likely To Miss Week 3 Against Raiders

The New England Patriots will probably go against the Las Vegas Raiders without one major contributor. The team lost the game against the Seattle Seahawks. Las Vegas has an excellent roster and Patriots players better get ready for that. They will also have to be ready to replace David Andrews.

The starting center sustained a terrible injury. Jay Glazer from Fox Insider said that Davis broke his thumb and even underwent surgery. One can’t mess with a fractured thumb.

“Big hit for Patriots and Cam as starting center David Andrews broke the thumb on his snapping hand and actually had surgery on it this week,” Glazer wrote. “Trying to snap with the other hand but likely out this week and potentially more.”

Patriots need a replacement for Davis in the game against Raiders

Davis wanted to try and snap the ball with his healthy hand during practice. Well, this change didn’t sit well with Andrews and his teammates. The veteran player will probably miss the Week 3 game against Las Vegas. Maybe Davis will stay on the sidelines for quite some time.

This is the worst scenario for the Patriots star center. Davis missed the 2019 season as he was treating his pulmonary embolism.

Andrews has provided strong support from the team. He has become a key player for the Patriots. The center went undrafted out of Georgia in 2015. He started 11 of 14 games in his rookie campaign. This marked the beginning of a beautiful era, and the Patriots really need Andrews on the field. Now they have to find a replacement for Andrews.

First, they can use Isaiah Wynn, Joe Thuney, Hjalte Froholdt, Shaq Mason, and Jermaine Eluemunor/Michael Onwenu. These players belong to the first group. The second group has Isaiah Wynn, Jermaine Elueminor, Joe Thuney, Shaq Mason, and Michael Onwenu. Wynn, Onwenu, Thuney, Mason, and Eluemunor belong to the third group. Group 4 has Wynn, Thuney, James Ferentz, Mason, and Eluemunor/Onwenu.

Well, New England should really make the best decisions in the period that follows. There are so many options right now, and the Pats can choose what works best for their players.
