Report: Cam Newton-Led Patriots Could Run Scary Tim Tebow Style Offense

How will the New England Patriots lead their offense in 2020? Cam Newton is a starting quarterback for the team, and he is nothing like Tom Brady. Head coach Bill Belichick thought it would be nice to put the former Carolina Panthers quarterback under center. Newton is also a team captain. Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels will have the chance to implement new moves. Newton and Brady are really different, and this gives McDaniels an opportunity to try out new things. Patriots fans and NFL analysts have been asking questions about the Patriots offense. Things will become a lot clearer on Sunday. New England plays their season opener against the Miami Dolphins. Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio believes that the Patriots will try a Tim Tebow style offense.

McDaniels may implement an offense for Newton similar to the one he had for Tebow when the offensive coordinator was coaching the Denver Broncos. This system allows the quarterback to run and open up the passing game all while using blocking schemes that protect the signal caller on passing plays.

Florio has a theory of the Patriots using a Tim Tebow style offense

A source close to the team told Florio that the 2015 NFL MVP may be “scary” in a Tebow-style offense system. McDaniels didn’t have the chance to fully implement this in Denver. The team fired him before Tebow took the starting position.

This is more than good news for Patriots fans. Newton is a better quarterback than Tebow. Of course, he has to stay healthy to accomplish great things on the field.  Newton has the talent and strength to lead an offensive scheme that improves his strength.

Pretty much every move the Patriots plan to make depends on Newton’s health. He missed 16 games in the past two years due to shoulder and foot injuries. If fully healthy, the Patriots will have a chance to use their Superman and win more games than in 2019. Let’s see how will things work for the talented veteran. Having an NFL MVP on the roster is a good thing, right?
