Report: Patriots Key Offensive Weapon Could Miss Week 1

A key piece of the New England Patriots offense could fail to play in week one of the 2020 season. The Patriots are very much trying to get back on top after a sad season in 2019. The team failed to do anything in 2019. Even legend Tom Brady failed to see success on the field last year. But now Brady has left for Tampa Bay and the Patriots are wanting to get back on track.

Sadly, it seems like that goal might have just taken a hit. The Patriots have been hit by the injury bug in the off season this year. This is bad news for everyone around the organization. The latest to be hit is Damien Harris. Apparently, he has suffered from a hand injury. This could cause him to miss week 1 and maybe even more.

This would be a huge loss. The Patriots are going to need to be at full strength if they want to make any noise this year. The goal should be the playoffs but even that seems a bit like wishful thinking.

The starting running back room might be a little tough. Before, it would have gone to Sony Miche. He would have been the RB1 despite of Harris’ surge in training camp. However, he too is now recovering from an injury.

Michel went on the surgery table this offseason for an injured knee. He was then placed on the Physically Unable to Perform. He was there until the last week of August. But even then, there are questions as to whether or not he will be ready to go in week 1.

Now Lamar Miller is here to take the place. But even he is still coming back from a torn ACL which he suffered in a preseason game before the 2019 season. He might also not be available in week one of the season. The Patriots are then left with either Rex Burkhead or James White as the starters and the ones getting most of the carries.

What do you think about the injuries that the Patriots are suffering from this off season?
