The Message LeBron James’ Mom Sent That Fueled Lakers’ 2019-20 Season

LeBron James mom might be the one to thank the the Los Angeles Lakers great play in the NBA Playoff bubble this season. The Lakers have been pretty good in the bubble as a whole. There were definitely some questionable games. Just take a look at the first games against the Portland Trailblazers and the Houston Rockets and you will see. The Lakers do come out slow from time to time.

But that does not mean they have not bounced back. The Lakers have home 8-2 in the playoffs so far which is a pretty good record. They are behind only the Miami Heat who have a better record and have already started their match up with the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Lakers are not far behind.

Now comes their matchup with the Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets were able to come back from a 1-3 deficit against the Los Angeles Clippers. The took the series in game 7 and shocked the NBA world. When you look at the matchup on paper, the Lakers are obviously the better team.

But the Nuggets have nothing to lose at this point. This means that they are a very dangerous team to come against.

The Message LeBron James’ Mom Sent That Fueled Lakers’ 2019-20 Season

But if LeBron James mom has anything to say about it, the Lakers will not lose another game. At least that is what it seems like. She sent a message to LeBron before the season that fueled his fire and he recently talked about it. This is the first time he has come out about this publicly.

“Having the battles that I had with [coach Vogel] and his Indiana Pacer team, I already knew what he would bring to the table,” James said. “I was just excited about the opportunity to link with AD–such a great talent–link with coach Vogel and the coaching staff, players that we were starting to sign and things of that nature.”

“My Mom told me ‘Don’t talk about it, be about it,’” James said. “So I didn’t really say much. Just go out and do your job, and live with the results.”

Those are some pretty wise words from mom. He obviously took this as motivation to continue his high level of play. Now they are working on getting to the Finals for the first time in many years.

Do you think they can get there?
