Two Top Patriots Receivers Limited In Latest Team’s Injury Report

The New England Patriots added two wide receivers to Wednesday’s injury report. Veteran quarterback Cam Newton wasn’t listed in the report.

Newton discussed his ailment during an appearance on WEEI’s Greg Hill Show.

“I don’t know where that came from. I didn’t have no hamstring problems,” Newton said. “We won, so that means I’m not hurt no more.”

Receivers N’Keal Harry (shoulder) and Julian Edelman (knee) saw limited action on Wednesday. The same applies to Brandon Copeland (knee), Adam Butler (shoulder) and Jonathan Jones (foot). Dalton Keene (neck) and Cassh Maluia (knee) missed Sunday’s game, and now they are listed as full participants.

Harry was ruled questionable for the game against Miami. He played through a shoulder injury, and Newton had great words of his play in Week 1.

The Patriots may not change their injury report

The 2015 NFL MVP is convinced that Harry had a good game against Miami. Newton explained that one particular play overshadowed his production on the field. He also liked Harry’s run game and his catches.

“I spoke with N’Keal and let’s just put a lot of things into perspective here. Did he have a good game? Yes, he did,” Newton said. “I think that one play overshadowed the production that he did have. He bailed me out on a play, on a kinda inaccurate pass that he came down with and got a first down. He did pretty good in the run game. Had a couple contested catches. And all that was kinda for not because a lot of people just focused on the fumble.

“And granted, I’ll be the first person to tell you that he knows — or he will be the first person to tell you that he knows that is unacceptable. But obviously when you just put things into perspective and you call an apple an apple and a spade a spade, it was just one mistake. Him still being a young player and trying to come into his own, things like that will happen.”

New England travels to Seattle for a hot game against the Seahawks. Bill Belichick and his team are ready for the upcoming challenge. The Patriots entered the 2020 season with a win, and analysts have made some great predictions about the team. Newton impressed everyone, including some of his doubters.
