17 Years of LeBron James: On This Day, the Kid from Akron Stormed the NBA World

The King LeBron James stormed the world and NBA 17 years ago today. The 17 years that he has been in the NBA has been a huge time of change and growth. And let’s be honest, a lot of this has to do with LeBron directly. He has been a huge part of the growth that the NBA has seen in recent years. And it is only getting better. His current team, the Los Angeles Lakers are officially coming off a title run.

This year’s NBA season looked a bit different though. With the COVID situation, the NBA was forced to postpone their season and restart at a later date. When they restarted, it was in a bubble format. LeBron talked about how hard this was to deal with recently.

“I am here for one reason and one reason only, and that’s to compete for a championship,” James said. “That was my mindset once I entered the bubble, once I entered the quarantine process the first two days. And then right from my first practice my mindset was to, if I’m going to be here, make the most of it and see what you can do and lock in on what the main thing is. And the main thing was for us to finish the season and compete for a championship.”

“So that’s just been my mindset throughout these — I don’t even know how many days it is, whatever how many days it is, it feels like five years so it really doesn’t matter. I’ve been as locked in as I’ve ever been in my career.”

But taking a look at LeBron’s past career, it is remarkable to see how he has grown as a player and a person.

He has a total of four NBA championships as well as four NBA Finals MVPs in his amazing career. But also, James has won four regular-season MVPsto boot, along with a whopping 16 trips to the All-Star games.

James definitely has a few more years left in his tank. But when he decides to hang it up, he is a sure-shot Hall of Famer. He will be remembered as one of the best players to ever play the game, along there with Michael Jordan.
