Anthony Davis Reacts to Joining Shaquille O’Neal and George Mikan in Lakers History

Anthony Davis had an interesting reaction after he joined Shaquille O’Neal and George Mikan in the Los Angeles Lakers history. The Lakers are back in the NBA Finals for the first time in many, many years. It has been great to see the team get back on track after so many bumps in the road. It has been tough to see this team play after the death of Kobe Bryant.

But maybe their success can help some fans heal. We all know how good Kobe was for the Lakers. In fact, he was in large part, still the kind of LA. But LeBron is also making it clear that he still has a chip on his shoulder. He has been great in the NBA Playoffs this year.

Many people thought that it would be tough to get back on track after a slow start in the Playoffs this year for the Lakers. But they have and have even looked like the best team in the NBA so far. They are now in a battle with the Miami Heat and won the Game 1 matchup.

But LeBron James was not the only one that has been good for the Lakers in the Playoffs. Anthony Davis has been great and has even made Lakers history already.

He talked about what this has meant to him.

“You by the way had one of the most historic NBA Finals debuts we’ve seen in the NBA,” said Rachel Nichols. “You’re tied for third-place – Elgin Baylor, and I’m gonna give you the other two names on this list: George Mikan and Shaquille O’Neal. That’s pretty good company, AD. How did you feel out there tonight?”

“I felt good,” said Davis. “My first NBA Finals game, obviously the nerves was there, a little nervous, but when the ball’s tipped up, we just go out there and play basketball, and I tried to do that tonight. I got some good looks early, got to the free throw line a lot, able to calm down and see the ball go through the net, which opened up the jump shot, and also opened up the lane for me. So I just go out there and try to be comfortable knowing that this is the moment I’ve waited for my entire career and that I’m here, so I maximize this opportunity because it doesn’t come around too often, and my teammates did a good job making sure I was in my comfort spots to be successful.”
