Bill Belichick Addresses on Julian Edelman’s Optimistic Timeline to Return From Surgery

New England Patriots veteran wideout Julian Edelman will miss some time on the football field. The veteran underwent a surgery to fix his knee and NFL analysts believe he will miss a few weeks. Head coach Bill Belichick provided an optimistic update on Edelman’s situation. This is more than great news for Patriots fans. Edelman has a key role on the Patriots roster, and the team needs him back on the field. But, this won’t happen for at least three weeks.

NFL rules force players to miss at least three regular-season games after being placed on injured reserve. The Patriots will place their talented wideout on IR, so the team won’t use his talent for about a month. According to some calculations, Edelman will return by Week 11. Right on time for the game against the Houston Texans.

Coach Belichick said the team will place Edelman on IR today. Edelman will be out at least three games following his procedure. The Patriots head coach believes that Jules will see some action at some point in the season.

Earlier this week, the Patriots revealed that Edelman deals with a nagging knee issue. The wideout did some tests and he was suggested to undergo a surgery. New England ruled him out for Sunday’s match against the Buffalo Bills.

The Patriots don’t really have a good game for the season. If they continue their losing streak, Edelman may miss the rest of the season.

Bill Belichick is optimistic about Julian Edelman’s return

Edelman had a good start of the season. He had 13 passes for 236 yards at the beginning of the season, and Cam Newton used him as a reliable target. But things went down the hill, and Edelman had eight receptions for 79 yards in the last four games. This doesn’t look like Edelman at all.

The veteran hasn’t scored a touchdown this season, but losing him would be a big blow for the Patriots receiving unit. New England struggles with the offensive side of the ball. Edelman’s absence will make things words for the team.

Damiere Byrd and Jakobi Meyers will see a bigger load following the departure of Edelman and fellow wideout N’Keal Harry.
