Colin Cowherd Sums Up Patriots’ Week 6 Performance In Three Words

Colin Cowherd has summed up the New England Patriots’ week 6 performance with three easy words. The Patriots did not look very good against the Denver Broncos this week. They struggled on both sides of the ball but especially offensively. It was very concerning to see as the team looked pretty impressive in previous showings.

The Patriots have struggled to get back on track after a few weeks of positive COVID tests came and hit the team hard. The first to test positive was Cam Newton and he made his first showing back on Sunday. Coach Bill Belichick talked about what they were doing to get back on track.

“Today’s an important day in our preparation for the Broncos,” Belichick said. “We’ve had several days now of virtual meetings between the staff members and from the staff to the players. We’ve been able to cover a lot of things, but we haven’t spent any time together, so today’s our opportunity to do that. We look forward to that. One thing that we’ve learned this year repeatedly has been we have to be ready to adjust and adapt to changes and modifications and the way we do things and, in some cases, decisions that really come down to a very short amount of time that we have to be ready to adjust to.”

“So we’re certainly taking things day by day — probably hour by hour would be more accurate. We’ll just see how we progress and then as we find out more on our end, or if there are other things externally that we can’t control that, then we’ll deal with those as they come. That’s the way it’s been all year. I think our team and our players have done a good job of handling those adjustments, and we’ll continue to do that.”

But an outside talking head has come out with some interesting things to say about the poor showing in week 6. Take a look at what Colin Cowherd said.

“Cam needs help,” Cowherd said on FOX Sports 1. “New England’s last in the NFL in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. This was a (Tom) Brady complaint. Now, Cam got real loose yesterday with his mechanics and the offensive line was beat up. They have no vertical threat. That (Damiere) Byrd kid? That’s not a starting receiver.”

“This is the weakest receiving corps in the NFL. N’Keal Harry appears to be a bust, can’t separate. (Julian) Edelman, now, drops are contagious. Their best receiver is James White, the running back. They have no weapons. There’s nothing to throw to. It’s the weakness, the blind spot of the best football coach ever, Bill Belichick.”

Well, he has a point, we have to admit.

What do you think about what he had to say?
