Damien Harris Shows Support For Cam Newton With Instagram Comment

The New England Patriots are about to play against the Kansas City Chiefs, and they won’t have their starting quarterback on the field. Challenging the defending Super Bowl champions is a big bite to swallow. New England will do that without the 2015 NFL MVP. A positive coronavirus test changed everything. Damien Harris supported quarterback Cam Newton, and other Patriots players did the same.

Newton took to his Instagram account to deliver a message. It attracted the attention of many current and former Patriots players. Harris took notice of it, and his name popped in the comments section.

“I will never question God’s reasoning; just will always respond with, ‘Yes Lord!!’ ” Newton wrote. “I appreciate all the love, support, and well wishes!! I will take this time to get healthy and self-reflect on the other amazing things that I should be grateful for!!”

Damien Harris looks forward to seeing Cam Newton on the field

The veteran quarterback will be sidelined for the game against Kansas City. His positive test changed McDaniels’ scheme. Kansas City backup quarterback Jordan Ta’amu tested positive, too. The highly anticipated game will take place on Monday night.

Newton’s message drew a response from the running back. Harris will join his team in the game against the Chiefs.

“shake back 1!!” the running back wrote.

According to initial reports, Brian Hoyer will go under center for the Pats at Arrowhead Stadium. The journeyman veteran has started one game in the past couple of seasons. Many analysts thought that Hoyer has the chance to become a starting quarterback for the Patriots. The same applies to second-year quarterback Jarrett Stidham. But, New England signed Newton and the rest is history.

Newton changed the gameplan in New England, and the team benefited a lot from his running tactics. Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels has tried a different scheme with Newton, and it works really well. New England won two games in the season, including the one that had Newton at his lower level.

The Patriots hope to see Newton soon, and he is expected to return by Friday. Of course, he has to stay asymptomatic for this to happen.
