Danny Green Says Lakers Just Need to Bring Back One Player in Order to Win Upcoming Season

Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat had no chance against LeBron James and his squad. The Los Angeles Lakers were too much to handle, and Butler gave up in Game 6 of the NBA Finals. LA won the 17th title in team history and players had plenty of time to celebrate. Well, it’s time to get back to work. Several players are set to opt of their players option. The Lakers will have to think of a solution. Keeping its superstars on the roster is of utmost importance. According to Danny Green, the Lakers should consider bringing back one particular player.

The Lakers won the title in special circumstances. Winning inside the Orlando bubble was hard and players had their struggles. It was a good ending, and the Los Angeles Lakers are already thinking of 2020. Jeanie Buss and Rob Pelinka have a long offseason to deal with.

Green knows that the Lakers won’t keep the same roster in 2020-21. But, he believes that keeping LeBron and Anthony Davis in LA would be more than enough for the team to win.

“It’s going to be tough because we have so many free agents, with 10 guys that are free agents,” Green said. “Trying to bring everybody back and reconstruct the contracts, it’s going to be difficult, but when you have the nucleus of LeBron and AD — if they bring back AD — that’s pretty much what you need. You don’t need much else around them.”

It’s a good point. LeBron and the Lakers big man took the Lakers to the top. LA made the top of the Western Conference thanks to the powerful duo. LeBron and Davis made the strongest duo in the NBA.

Bringing Rajon Rondo and Dwight Howard back to the roster would be great, but the Lakers really need to focus on Davis. Rondo and Howard are more replaceable than the King and Davis.

Los Angeles will enter the upcoming season as a favorite to win the championship. Of course, LeBron and Davis have to stay on the roster. The four-time NBA champion will probably find a way to keep Davis in Los Angeles.
