Derrick Rose ‘More Likely’ to Make Deal With Lakers Than Ever Before

Derrick Rose is more likely than ever to make a deal with the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers are coming off of a NBA title in the NBA bubble in Orlando. They were able to take out the Miami Heat in only 6 games and looked very impressive doing it. But it was not all fun and games for the Lakers. For the teams that were in the bubble the whole time, it was very difficult to deal with.

LeBron James talked about this recently.

“I am here for one reason and one reason only, and that’s to compete for a championship,” James said. “That was my mindset once I entered the bubble, once I entered the quarantine process the first two days. And then right from my first practice my mindset was to, if I’m going to be here, make the most of it and see what you can do and lock in on what the main thing is. And the main thing was for us to finish the season and compete for a championship.”

“So that’s just been my mindset throughout these — I don’t even know how many days it is, whatever how many days it is, it feels like five years so it really doesn’t matter. I’ve been as locked in as I’ve ever been in my career.”

But now the off season is in full swing. And there are trade rumors left and right. Take a look at what was said about Derrick Rose recently.

“I think both sides were reluctant when they went into in January, February,” one general manager said recently. “I don’t think the Lakers wanted to make a major move because they thought they could do something on the buyout market. And I don’t think the [Detroit] Pistons wanted to make a major move because Derrick was happy there. You know, the Lakers wanted to be involved in case the [Los Angeles] Clippers got involved or someone else, the Bucks or the Nuggets, whoever. So there was interest but not too serious. Now, everything has shifted a little. Now, they’re both in a position to where a deal is much more likely now.”
