Details Emerging On When Cam Newton Could Return To Patriots

There are some new details on when Cam Newton might be return for the New England Patriots. It was a tough game for the Patriots last night. The Kansas Chiefs were able to beat the Patriots in pretty much every aspect of the game yesterday. It was tough to see as the Patriots were on a bit of a roll offensively before it was announced that Cam Newton came down with the COVID 19 illness.

This announcement meant that Newton would have to sit out for at least a week while he watches his teammates struggle. He was not able to travel with the team either. But there might be some good news in this regard. Newton has been great for the Patriots so far this season. Just look at what Bill Belichick said about him recently.

“I think when you’re talking about mobile quarterbacks — guys that are tough to handle, can throw, run, make good decisions … — I would put him at the top of the list.  “Not saying there aren’t a lot of other good players that do that, but I would say of all the guys we played recently in the last couple of years, I think he’s the hardest guy to (defend).”

“He makes good decisions, can run. He’s strong. He’s hard to tackle. He can do a lot of different things. He can beat you in a lot of different ways. We saw that in the game in 2013. I would put him at the top of the list. I’m not saying the other guys aren’t a problem, because they are. But he’s maybe public enemy No. 1.”

But luckily, there is some good news coming out of the Newton camp.

If he is not showing symptoms, he could be able to play even earlier than expected with is huge for the Patriots. Newton is feeling fine so far. COVID is nothing to mess around with. But still, if he has no symptoms, he could be fine.
