Injury Report: Five Patriots Players Limited Ahead Of 49ers Matchup

The New England Patriots are playing the San Francisco 49ers at Gillette Stadium on Sunday. It’s an important game for the team, and players will have a good opportunity to break the losing cycle. Jimmy Garoppolo is playing against a familiar team, and we all know what that means. New England has released an injury report and five Patriots players saw limited action.

The Patriots add one player to the injury report Thursday. Outside linebacker Derek Rivers ended up on IR due to a back injury. The Patriots placed Rivers on the reserve/COVID-19 list this past weekend. He didn’t join his teammates in the game against the Denver Broncos.

Head coach Bill Belichick is not worried about potential injury chaos and Patriots are good to go

Wide receiver Julian Edelman (knee), guard Shaq Mason (calf), defensive tackle Adam Butler (shoulder) and safety Kyle Dugger (ankle) saw limited action in Thursday’s session. They were limited Wednesday, too.

Running back James White missed second straight practice. Team members reveal that his absences aren’t related to an injury.

Center James Ferentz and defensive tackle Carl Davis didn’t show up for practice as confirmed by reporters.

Davis signed with the Patriots, but he won’t join the team at this point of the season due to precautions and protocols for free agents amid the coronavirus pandemic. We don’t have any information regarding Ferentz’s absence. He didn’t join his teammates for the start of Wednesday’s session, but the team didn’t put him on the injury report.

Defensive tackle Beau Allen, center David Andrews and linebacker Josh Uche returned from IR. Defensive tackle Byron Cowart, guard Shaq Mason and defensive end Derek Rivers returned from the covid list on Wednesday. They practiced Thursday, and they will probably see some action on Sunday.

Patriots safety Devin McCourty is definitely happy to see Patriots starters on the field.

Head coach Bill Belichick was concerned about his players not getting enough practice. The team is coming off back-to-back losses and they are playing a tough team this time. Patriots players will definitely have to prepare well for the defending champions in the NFC.
