Insider Speculates About Potential Return In Stephon Gilmore Trade

The New England Patriots have been linked with several veteran players. But, one NFL analysts have brought up a theory involving Stephon Gilmore and his potential trade.

Are the Patriots interested in trading the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year?

Last month, several reports suggested that the Patriots have tried trading their star cornerback during the last offseason. The Nov. 3 deadline is almost her, and the rumor is here again.

Stephon Gilmore to end up on the trade block

Sports Illustrated reporter Albert Breer believes that Patriots won’t get too much if they trade away Gilmore. He hasn’t played his best football this season.

“The question then becomes what you’re willing to take for him,” Breer said Sunday on NBC Sports Boston. “Because I don’t think it’s going to be a first-round pick. I can give you guys a list of 10 guys who’ve gone for first-round picks over the last two years — every single one of those guys was 27 years old or younger. So, I don’t think you’re getting a first-round pick for him. But if you’re willing to move him for a second or a third, I think there could be a market out there for him.”

We have to wait and see if head coach Bill Belichick is willing to keep Gilmore in New England beyond the trade deadline. This applies to many other players on the Patriots roster. The whole thing depends on Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills.

New England has lost three straight games, and the situation is less than comfortable. If they suffer their fourth straight defeat, the team may become seller at the deadline.

The Patriots have several injured players, and Belichick has done some calculations. Maybe he is willing to bring some fresh dominance on the roster. The team is going through a terrible phase. Unlike the Patriots, Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are doing an incredible job by winning five out of seven games. Is Belichick struggling without his top quarterback? Time will tell. For now, the legendary coach will have to repair the roster.
