Jeanie Buss Releases Statement For Lakers Fans About Championship Parade

Jeanie Buss has reassured fans that the Lakers NBA championship parade will happen. The Lakers are NBA title winners, doesn’t that sound nice? It has been incredible to see the growth of this team so far and it seems like it will only get better the more and more they are together.

But there is always room for improvement. Obviously, this was a tough year for the Lakers and the entire world. The COVID situation kind of took hold and was a big problem for the NBA. They did bounce back. In a bubble format that worked but was also difficult. Take a look at what LeBron said about this.

“I am here for one reason and one reason only, and that’s to compete for a championship,” James said. “And that was my mindset once I entered the bubble, once I entered the quarantine process the first two days. And then right from my first practice my mindset was to, if I’m going to be here, make the most of it and see what you can do and lock in on what the main thing is. And the main thing was for us to finish the season and compete for a championship.”

“So that’s just been my mindset throughout these — I don’t even know how many days it is, whatever how many days it is, it feels like five years so it really doesn’t matter. I’ve been as locked in as I’ve ever been in my career.”

But the Laker fans wanted more. The want a championship parade. With the CVID situation that is currently happening, this is very difficult to do. But Lakers owner Jeanie Buss definitely was on their side and told them what they wanted to hear. Take a look.

“I think Lakers fans are the best fans in the NBA. They understand basketball, they understand and appreciate good basketball. And they were starving for a playoff run, so when Magic Johnson joined the organization to oversee our basketball department, that’s when things got put into play. And I know how fans feel about Magic Johnson, that he wouldn’t come back to the Lakers if it wasn’t about getting the Lakers back to winning. That’s what Magic Johnson is all about. He could feel the fans’ disappointment that we weren’t living up to the standard that Dr. Buss had set.

“So Lakers fans, I appreciate you so much. I miss interacting with you, hugging you, seeing you, but some day we will have a celebration when it’s safe to do so, because I don’t want to lose not one single one of you, and we have to be very careful during these times.”
