Lakers Players Were Shocked to See Anthony Davis Calling Out LeBron James in Practice

The Los Angeles Lakers did their best to trade for Anthony Davis last year. These efforts were more than necessary as Davis turned out to be the real partner for superstar LeBron James. Davis and LeBron make the best duo in the NBA, and their incredible chemistry has put the Lakers on top of the West. If they keep playing at this pace, the Lakers will win the championship and go back home as champions. How far is LeBron willing to go to keep his promise? Is he willing to give up on his throne? Will he step down as a leader and allow his younger teammate to become the ultimate leader for the Lakers? Well, Davis did call out LeBron at the Lakers practice.

Lakers players were shocked. Davis had the courage to call out the three-time NBA champion and it was crazy.

“Teammates were taken aback at first to hear Davis pointing out LeBron’s mistakes in practices, urging him to get it right next time,” ESPN’s Zach Lowe reported.

The 27-year-old is in his first season with the Lakers. The franchise traded away a bunch of talented players to get Davis. They gave up on Lonzo Ball, Josh Hard and Brandon Ingram. This was the best deal LA could’ve signed as Davis is doing an incredible job for the Lakers.

Davis had some issues throughout the games, but everyone noticed his willingness to level up his game. He averaged 26.1 points, 9.3 rebounds and 3.2 assits per game in the regular season.

In the 2020 playoffs, Davis is averaging 29.3 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.2 blocks per game with the Lakers. LA has a 14-3 record in the postseason.

Davis really is the lead voice on LA, and Lakers head coach Frank Vogel talked about the relationship between LeBron and the big man.

“There were a couple of instances when they had a little back and forth,” Vogel said. “‘That’s on you. Don’t try to deflect. That’s your rotation.’ And LeBron would accept it.”
