LeBron James Becomes Second All-Time in NBA Playoff Assists

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has just passed former Utah Jazz guard John Stockton for second all-time in the NBA playoff assists. The king of basketball took his team to the NBA Finals and won the first two games of the series. LA plays game 3, and Miami players try to maintain a steady lead in the series.

LeBron got the mark early in the first quarter of Game 3 of the NBA Finals. The four-time NBA MVP earned assist number 1,840 on an alley-oop to teammate Dwight Howard. LeBron has an excellent performance in the NBA Finals. He showed everyone that he can easily play a few more seasons. The 16-year veteran can take the Lakers to a few more finals. This means that LeBron can easily catch former Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson.

LeBron James to increase his playoff assists

LeBron trails Johnson by 506 assists after his passing on Stockton. He has averaged 7.2 assists per game in his postseason career. Of course, LeBron’s average has increased throughout this postseason run. Everyone has noticed that LeBron became the ultimate ball-handler.

Johnson was able to get these numbers despite only taking part in 13 full seasons. Take into consideration that NBA teams worked with fewer possessions than today’s teams.
