LeBron James’ Influence Will Result in Oklahoma City Star Trade to Lakers, Per NBA Execs

LeBron James’ influence could result in an Oklahoma City star being traded to the Lakers, according to experts. The Los Angeles Lakers are still coming down from their excitement from winning the NBA Title. They took down the Miami Heat in 6 games and looked very impressive doing it. This is the first NBA championship for the Lakers in quite a few years.

Sadly, it came during a kind of broken year. With the COVID-19, the NBA was required to stop its games. It took a couple of months for it to restart and it came in a bubble format. This bubble worked great for what it was meant to do. But it was also difficult to live there for such a long time. The teams that did well were there for over 3 months. LeBron talked about this recently.

“I am here for one reason and one reason only, and that’s to compete for a championship,” James said. “That was my mindset once I entered the bubble, once I entered the quarantine process the first two days. And then right from my first practice my mindset was to, if I’m going to be here, make the most of it and see what you can do and lock in on what the main thing is. And the main thing was for us to finish the season and compete for a championship.”

But with the season finally over, the off season trade rumors are heating up. Take a look at what some NBA execs have said.

“Chris Paul would love to come back to L.A. I know it would be a dream come true for Chris,” an Eastern Conference executive said. “I know LeBron loves and trusts him and he would be a good fit.”

“It seems like a risk, but sometimes you need to [execute big moves] to make yourself even better,” the executive went on. “The [Golden State] Warriors will be better. The [Los Angeles] Clippers may be better. The [Denver] Nuggets aren’t going to get worse. Your competition is getting better. It worked [in Orlando] for the Lakers, but I don’t know if you have a normal regular season without the bubble if it does.”

“It’s a no-brainer to get a third scorer [and playmaker] like Chris. It’s a really valid and viable scenario,” he said. “Will it happen? I don’t know, but if I’m the Lakers [or] if I’m LeBron, that’s what I go for. They might be able to get a pick back from the Thunder, like [the Miami Heat’s 2021 previously acquired by Oklahoma City].”

This would be pretty exciting to see. What do you think about what he had to say?
