LeBron James’ Short Message to Jeanie Buss After Winning NBA Title Revealed

Los Angeles Lakers veteran LeBron James shared a long embrace with team owner Jeanie Buss during the awarding ceremony of the championship win in Orlando. They hugged each other tightly right before Buss made her acceptance speech. She shared details of the short convo she had with LeBron. The 59-year-old was really excited about the glorious win.

Once she realized that the Lakers had finally won the title, Jeanie felt overwhelmed about her speech during the trophy presentation. LeBron saw her standing a few meters away from the players. The four-time NBA champion approached Buss and gave her a tight hug.

LeBron James and Jeanie Buss to meet each other in many other awarding ceremonies

Buss talked to Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times and shared details of her meeting with LeBron.

“He told her he did what he came to do. This is what we wanted to accomplish, and we did it, she recalled him saying, paraphrasing his thoughts. She smiled and nodded as he spoke, closing her eyes for some of it.

“‘I think the hug for that long a time was to really let it soak in,” Buss said. ‘He’s won several championships now and he knows that those moments are to be cherished and to be recognized.’”

Buss won the title for the first time as Lakers owner. LA has won a lot of titles in the past. Some of them happened in the era of her late father, Jerry Buss, and Jeanie had the privilege or the first time. She is the first woman to win a championship in the league. Of course, she was a little uncomfortable at first. Things got better later in the ceremony.

Los Angeles will now work on Anthony Davis and his potential deal with the team. The Lakers big man has an opportunity to leave the team. Buss will do her best to make him stay. Well, Davis didn’t really say much about his future plans. Some linked him to his hometown. Others believe that he will win a few more titles with LeBron and the Lakers. The only thing we can do right now is wait and see what happens next.
