New England Patriots Release Projected Injury Report After Canceling Practice

The New England Patriots had to call off practice right after Stephon Gilmore’s COVID-19 test returned positive. The team has been dealing with this problem for quite some time. Veteran quarterback Cam Newton was the first player to test positive for coronavirus. Bill Murray was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. A player can end up on this list even if he is not positive. NFL teams can place players on this list even if they had been in contact with an infected person. The Patriots released the injury report. According to this, four players would have seen limited action.

Wide receiver Julian Edelman (knee), guard Shaq Mason (calf), offensive tackle Isaiah Wynn (calf) and defensive tackle Adam Butler (shoulder) were listed as limited.

Mason sat out the game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Patriots injury report may change

The Patriots placed cornerback Gilmore on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday. He joins Newton and practice squad defensive tackle Murray.

New England canceled Thursday’s practice. We don’t have any info regarding the team’s future plans. Will they return to the field Friday? The Denver Broncos will arrive at Gillette Stadium Sunday.

Denver players had their Wednesday practice. Quarterback Drew Lock was a limited participant due to his shoulder issues. He missed the team’s last two games.

Here’s Denver’s Wednesday injury report:

DID NOT PARTICIPATE
OLB Jeremiah Attaochu (quadricep)
TE Noah Fant (ankle)
WR KJ Hamler (hamstring)

LIMITED AVAILABILITY
CB Davontae Harris (hamstring)
QB Drew Lock (right shoulder)

FULL AVAILABILITY
CB Bryce Callahan (wrist)
S Trey Marshall (wrist)
RB Phillip Lindsay (foot)

Patriots fans hope to see Newton and Gilmore back on the field by the end of this week. Of course, this will happen only if players return with two negative tests. The team played without Newton and lost the game in Kansas City. Brian Hoyer and Jarrett Stidham led the team throughout the game. Stidham hit his first touchdown pass to N’Keal Harry. New England benched Hoyer in the third quarter of the game.
