NFL teams are dealing with an increased number of COVID-19 cases, and the New England Patriots are no exception. Three players ended up on the reserve/COVID-19 list a day before Sunday’s match against the Denver Broncos. Will the NFL make a change regarding the Patriots vs Broncos game?

New England has had a few positive tests in the past few weeks. Veterans Cam Newton and Stephon Gilmore had coronavirus. New England’s schedule saw multiple changes. The NFL has moved the game vs Denver twice. According to initial reports, there are no changes regarding the game. Sunday’s game will be the Patriots’ first since Oct. 5.

New England placed running back Sony Michel, guard Shaq Mason and defensive end Derek Rivers on the COVID list. They had already ruled out Michel due to an injury.

Patriots are concerned about the situation. Having multiple positive tests is a big concern for any team. The NFL tried to avoid other significant scheduling schifts after making a few major changes to the schedule in the past few weeks. Latest reports confirm that the NFL is well aware of the situation in New England. In other words, players will hit the field and play their Week 6 game.

NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero reported that the NFL believes New England has followed all protocols. The NFL doesn’t anticipate having to change the schedule.

The Patriots have had several positive tests in the last few weeks. Center James Ferentz ended up on the COVID list on Friday. The situation is far from ideal right now. We do hope the NFL would make the right decision regarding the upcoming games. Players’ safety is a priority now. Players and coaches trust the NFL despite some of the concerns they have voiced.

New England has made numerous changes to cover up the empty spots on the roster. They have already replaced Michel and the rest of the guys. Head coach Bill Belichick and his coaches are working on the gameplan in order to get everyone ready for the game.
